HOW TO POST A PICTURE!!! READ ME BEFORE POSTING!!!

Post by Duchess » Fri Dec 05, 2008 4:35 pm

Ok...so I realize that people might not know how to post something...I should have put this up when we started this...lol...my bad lol...

One of the easiest and quickest ways to put something here Ive found is Photobucket (http://www.photobucket.com) some of you may be familiar with this website already, if so...use the IMG CODE to post a picture...if not....well here is a step by step guide...lol...

go to photobucket.com (a given huh? lol)

if you have an account...sign in...if not...create an account...its free...

(im guess by this point you have logged in...)

use the box that says "upload images and video"

On the right hand side there is a few options...choose the one that fits what you want...most people choose "my computer"

(for the purpose of explaining this we are choosing this option...lol)

Then click on "Choose files"

Find the photo in your files and click "open"

it will automatically start loading your picture...

You will come to a screen that says "add titles and descriptions"...if you want...add something

If you dont want to add something click "return to album"

You should be back in well your album...

When you run your cursor over the photo a list of codes will show up...you want IMG CODE...click on the code...it will automatcially copy itself...

the code should look something like this:
http://i251.photobucket.com/albums/gg28 ... SexyMe.jpg (using my own link here lol)

when you click paste in this box it will show up like this:

Code: Select all

and when you post, preview to make sure it posted how you want...it should look like this...there will be no html code visible...
Image

Great Job! You just posted a photo!!! And the great news: IT DOESNT TAKE UP ROOM ON PP'S SERVER!!! And the reasoning for that is...your picture is hosted on Photobuckets server...cool huh?

Hopefully this helped yall out and Im sorry it didnt make it up sooner!

If you have any questions...PM me and I will do my best to answer....

The same general principal applies to any other hosting site you use for your photos, including your own websites.

Hi- I read your explanation for posting photos, and can't still figure it out.. I put my first poem 'Just a Leaf" in the Inspirational section, not sure if you can see the code there, but I did everything you explained, my photos are already on photoshop, so I copied the code, but when I pasted it inbetween the img boxes, there is no ! mark as in your examples, and it won't fit the code inbetween, so I manually did it, and still, no photo!!
I'm sure it's "simple" can you help me?? All my photos are already on photobucket, so I'm halfway there! I just do not understand how to fit the code inbetween the img boxes, when they come up together, and then it adds more info at the end for some reasn...
help?
thanks!

I took the ! out since it was just there not to load the image. There are tags for posting code so that it displays it rather than runs it.

Code: Select all

Hi Duchess...
Okay so THAT'S how it's done. Here is a shot of me and my dance trainer during a live stage performance at the Cowell Theater in S.F.
Let's see... yep that's it! Thank you very much.

My Pop summed it up well when he said...
"Mike... a woman's love is like the morning dew...
falls on daisies and horse turds just the same".
thanks Pop... which one am I?
