Circa Du Politique
Spheres within political origin
raging through the abyss of time
Stirring psyches with lies amid truth
Taunting akin to elementary children
Starting a schoolyard brawl
Bullying others into submission
We lay our heads in subterfuge
Discerning “We are the People”
Within a circus of political inuendo
Rallying for seats of supremacy
Believing in a democracy
Threatened in fascism, communism, socialism…
Corporations influence, riddled in currency
Romancing the powers that be
Hungering For the soul of a republic
We lay our heads in subterfuge
Discerning “We are the People”
Within a circus of political inuendo
The jester takes form into factions
Dancing a jig to music we want to hear
Reveling in possibilities of greatness
As sinister murmurings cascade to a deaf man
Shaking heads in disbelief
As trickery lay afoot
We lay our heads in subterfuge
Discerning “We are the People”
Within a circus of political inuendo
Leaders of lies and crime
Insinuating their sins upon the rivals
Imparting doubt and fear
Paused we stand
Trying to decipher between the two
Is it lies…? Is it truth…?
We lay our heads in subterfuge
Discerning “We are the People”
Within a circus of political inuendo
Spreading toxicity within accusations and words
Rallying to the dark side of mortality
Accusations and falsehoods
Constructing walls of distrust
From neighbor to neighbor, race to race
Spreading disease over veracity
Leaving bloodshed behind….

Mortal lovers must not try to remain at the first step; for lasting passion is the dream of a harlot and from it we wake in despair.-C. S. Lewis
