Disquiet
disturbance upstairs
in the mind's eye
seeing is believing
talking out of turn
scolded, diminished
withdrawing from light
to dim solitude
I drink tears
and eat my words
gaunt, frail, feeble
in body alone
like a book
I can read your pages
I know all
your plot twists
hatched and escaping
my plan takes shape
takes wings, flies
over vast fields
a calm oasis
tranquil inside
outside armageddon
this, too, shall pass
you are not me
I am not you
but interpenetrated
whole, as one
you are free
to roam and explore
I carry my own baggage
no fear of your opprobrium
quietude
do not disturb
I am in the zone
being is believing.
