I've got to get
ripped
by summer
a natural tan
and a sleek
physique
I need a
part-time gal
a full-time gig
to blow on
a new set of
wheels
this is
how it feels
when you've got
motivation
with no means
to acquire
pop's retired
mom's in space
you're on your own
in this world,
kid
don't forget
(teacher's pet)
I can't hang
with my crew
if I've got
no money
on a Friday night
(it ain't right)
I sold my
earthly goods
now I'll have to
knuckle down
to get what
I need
it is decreed
no one is
going to do it
for me
the good things
won't be handed
to me
on a platter
what matters
is that I
respect myself
and others enough
to accept life
on its own terms
and learn
to adapt
bored and
feeling trapped
nothing but bills
and books
growing up
it's harder than
it looks.
