gathering the yield
the heat of the day
serenity slips away
return to the start
diagrams and charts
all profit and no loss
a golden albatross
no value without cost
without heart hope is lost
victory is assured
the way clouded and obscured
reality redefined
your card has been declined
new grain sprouting heads
forgotten, left for dead
soldiers of the sun
war's end has just begun
fear and avarice conspire
more food for the fire
the generals rejoice
a lone contrary voice
in the cool light of reason
facts tantamount to treason
if the proof is in the eating
the truth is self-defeating.
