The Last Song

Post by audiofool » Fri Mar 06, 2015 5:53 am

This is the last day
of our lives
stillborn babes
weary midwives

this is the last song
I'll ever sing
paid a ransom
fit for a king

eye on the clock
hand on the door
truth be told
I don't buy it anymore

reading the leaves
it's time for tea
sipping your slogans
I get it
what's in it for me?

this is the last line
ever spoken
the laugh track
must be broken

this is your last chance
for redemption
to break free
of convention

eye on the sky
feet on solid ground
instead of goodbye
I'll see you around.
