Oh! Did you see?
The pretty bird there
On a branch in that tree
It flew to the sky singing shrill
I fancy it somewhere singing still
Oh! Did you know?
There’s a whippoorwill nest
With its chicks on the show
Hear them chirping up there
I fancy whippoorwill nests everywhere
Oh! What a wonder
There’s a storm cloud approaching
And I’m hearing thunder
Oh how I love its rumbling refrain
I fancy fresh after the rain
Oh! I can sing!!
The snow has all melted
Thank goodness, its spring
The flowers are blooming in so many hues
Soon now I won’t need to wear any shoes
I can’t wait for
My return
To spring.
