To secure my place in this world

To Secure My Place In This World

Came the day under indigo sky
A tempest grew and I found that I
Would need to search to find the tie
To secure my place in this world

Forgotten days of wasted pain
Wrong turns down life’s too short lanes
To come back just to do it again
As my each day came unfurled

Woe holds me tight this long dark night
As I now see the truth of my shattered youth
Gone is the day I could have gone all the way
And now comes the night I must fight my last fight

Kiss me my love for what might have been
Kiss me for what still I may be
Hold me tight and don’t let me go
In this tempest that swells up my sea

(Then time came upon me and swept me up
The darkened skies fled past me like fence posts
My journey into the here gone now upon me
As the bygone grows ever distant behind)

Oh vast horizon I am lost to your light
No more to mingle within your sight
Oh how I wish you were with me tonight
To secure my place in this world.

Very powerful. I felt like crying by the end. :crying:

Crack a beer and steer it near your pie hole
After you smell it, swill it and don't spill it
Repeat as many times as necessary
Beer is medicine for the soul
And bacon, gotta have bacon
Yipper Skipper!!
