It could be worse.
Old age is catching up with me.
I have no choice I can’t deny.
I must accept I can’t rely.
Upon my short term memory.
This is the harsh reality
My memory’s a casualty.
Beyond repair apparently.
A personal catastrophe.
But life goes on and so must I
Although I know I can’t defy
what fate decrees.I will still try.
Nobody knows the reason why.
We lose our short term memories.
Though there are many theories

This is a very cool poem. Me -- even when I was young I had little short term memory -- and long term memory: forget it. Well my wife remembers for both of us. Love your poem. --Davidpoeticpiers reborn wrote:It could be worse.

Hi Ivor,
Something I can definitley relate to. I do alot of driving in my job. The other day I was cruising down the NYS Thruway,..now mind you,..in the USA all Interstate Thruways look much the same,...and it took me at least 10 seconds to 1: Remember where I was going, and 2: Remember where I was.
It's all good though. Sometimes it's better that way.
