Making A Dent

Post by bags123 » Thu Oct 11, 2012 10:39 am

Making A Dent

Relinquish any doubts you have,
if now they interfere
Decide your future will depend
on everyone still here

To live our lives in such a way
that all of us may share,
and make a dent, to some extent,
on suffering everywhere

Ignore the rhetoric of those
who've led us far astray
Forget solutions from the past
which came from what they say

Extinguish any hint of fear
new change is bound to bring
Consider how the winter's thaw
precedes the warmth of Spring
I prefer to keep an open mind,....but not so much that my brains fall out.- Carl Sagan
Your brain is like an umbrella. It only works when it's open- Someone Smart

:hello: bags, I liked your sensitive and thought provoking poem, especially the last 4 lines. And I, too, am always amazed what a new rebirth spring gives us after a cold winter's thaw.
