Dandelions in a Mother's cup,
Carried by two little boys with care,
Was my Mother's Day gift years ago,
I wore them proudly in my hair.
Next came the breakfast tray
Carried by both,
Jelly toast and tap water tea.
"The queen couldn't feast any finer,"
I said, as proudly they grinned at me.
Today when I see dandelions,
Bright-yellow in the grass,
I send my love Heavenward,
To my son, Gary, as I walk past.
So, moms and dads everywhere,
This message with you I share,
Accept the gifts they give to you.
Wear dandelions in your hair.
