OUTSIDE EDEN

OUTSIDE EDEN

Yet Eden, hidden, still escapes
The ravages of man-made curse —
For Garden never suffered fate
As has the rest of all the earth.
The Tree of Everlasting Life
Remains — its fruits today unhurt —
The yard of G-d yet day and night
Is fresh and fine as was at first.
But where else flourish grasses green?
And where be forests fresh as these?
And where the lakes? And where the streams?
The gentle fish? The loving beasts?
Not here, my friend, you understand:
For outside Eden plunders man.

Eden got a lucky escape indeed

And so it came to pass
that everything that was
had never come to be

it's a dangerous living this... life...

Did you think that the demon would possess us?

Thanks for your comment -- yeah, Eden got special treatment: surprised the government hasn't tried to buy it -- hope all's well -- David

ask ecokids
they run around the world till now in nice places before the end of the world...... later you can ask God
about paradise
i saw the body of your spirit ..my friend
sometimes you scared me
sometimes i touch you..sometimes i love you

Thanks for reading and commenting on my poem. Thanks also for your suggestion: I never heard of 'ecokids,' but now I've learned something! Have a great day! --David

It's a shame man can't treat the world as G-d treated Eden -- it's always the same thing: and THIS is progress! Regardless, thanks for commenting, and have a great day! --David
