Evil Walks
A bit of early Halloween writing in honor of the month!
Evil walked softly that night
slipping into the crevices
of her soul.
Her walls of protection
eroded while despair
exuded control.
Her heart, once a
bastion against life’s
deadly throes,
Sat dangerously dark,
black like a murder
of crows.
She sought the innocent,
the weak, the
tender youth;
Prepared to ensnare,
to taunt and torture with nail
and deadly tooth.
She eyed the throng
and waited for the loner,
to fall back from the pack.
She smiled seductively,
drew the weak one in
for her unmerciful attack.
He was lost in her arms,
boldly begging, pleading for the touch
of her deadly lips.
She slid her tongue
over his neck while her hands rubbed,
slid down his hips.
He moaned as she pierced
the skin and hungrily drank
his death through the dark red blood.
She smiled as he died,
quickly quenching her needs
with his life force flood.
Then silently she slipped away
into the night’s depths,
both empty and sated;
Lost in the dark world
filled with the loneliness
she owned and created.
Evil walked softly that night
slipping into the crevices
of her soul.
Her walls of protection
eroded while despair
exuded control.
Her heart, once a
bastion against life’s
deadly throes,
Sat dangerously dark,

I am doing great! So happy that I have to pinch myself from time to time to be sure I'm not dreaming!
