Prophets and Comedians

Post by bags123 » Mon Sep 20, 2010 9:49 am

Prophets and Comedians

Refresh me with the liquid sound
of laughter splashing all around
In drips, and drops of pointless mirth
Poured from our souls to quench the earth

So long this planet's been parched dry
by torment's heated, rainless, skies
Intent on burning Eden down,
and ruining our common ground

Good laughter's like a soothing balm,
Applied at times with great aplomb
To situations where we must
begin again to hope, and trust

We cannot dream, or pray for peace
Hostilities will never cease
Unless we learn to laugh again
at prophets, and comedians.

For when a push becomes a shove
It's better to react with love
Where people are consumed by rules
they soon become committed fools

Make some remark that makes them laugh,
and torments will be less by half.
This world of ours reduced of greif,
Rebirthed by comedy's relief.

This is an awesome write Bags! I agree in so many ways. If we could all just take a step back and laugh and smile the world would be such a better place. Well put! :thewave:

I really enjoyed this. it made me think of George Carlin, who in my opinion was both a prophet and a comedian.

perfect.... i think laughter heals. especially when you come to realize just how ridiculous life really is. and aside from that point i'd rather be one of those crazy people that laugh for nothing , than one of those sane people that laugh at nothing! good read as always my friend
