Rising on an eagle’s wings,
In silent perceiving.
Sailing across an azure sky,
beneath cotton clouds floating by,
brother sun climbs above,
sister moon sets below,
soaring across an open meadow,
past lofty pine trees
surrounding the lush valley.
No questions, no seeking,
Riding on eagles’ wings.
Floating through crisp mountain air,
between here and elsewhere,
riding the wind
past a fast flowing stream
clear and pristine,
hearing attuned,
to a solo flutist’s tune.
Flying upon eagles’ wings,
in wordless knowing.
Mind free from the confines
of space and time,
far seeing eyes,
spot a field where deer lie,
waiting for nightfall
and the beginning
of evening grazing.
Awareness experiencing,
gliding on eagles’ wings.
Feeling mother earth,
and this place of birth,
sensing her presence,
amidst the silence,
listening to the wisdom
of her vision.
A discerning, profound
a knowing, embracing sight and sound.
This poetry flowing
Through the dreaming
Of gliding upon an eagle’s wings.

A most enjoyable read carried me away above the earth and all its worries. But eagles unceasing vigilance is centred round the need to prey.

What a beautiful tableau this brought to my mind... I felt as if I were soaring wing tip to wing tip with the eagle!
