Questions within questions
never to be asked
too dangerous to be given voice
answers never coming

They'll remain buried
deep in dark and silence
rattling around in hidden corners
pleading their importance

But they cannot be asked
for if they were, too much
would be irrevocably altered
and in no good way

fragile psyches perilously
perched might be tipped and toppled
regardless of what the answers are
and I know

that were they coaxed from hiding
those answers would solve nothing
they would assuage no fears
they would only hurt

exacerbate old wounds
long thought to be healed
start them bleeding once again
so unnecessarily

yet this knowledge doesn't
put the questions down
they scatter, hide, refuse to die
but that

must happen

this sound like the "is there a god" question! also one that no one wants to ask. very interesting poem
