From The Other Side

Post by gordy » Tue Jan 21, 2003 3:47 pm

Laying here, nearly alone
Passing thoughts hid inside
Soon ponderings start syllables
To bounce...careen and collide
Word and rhyme, form and philosophy
Useless things unless released
From the other side of me

Sitting here, almost alone
Redeeming time, pen in hand
What I think becomes ink
By mind and muscle command
Strokes and slashes, dots and curves
Form and organize the random thoughts
Which have emerged

Typing here, almost alone
contemplating motivating factors
Do I write for insight?
Release, selfish hype or for laughter?
Finger and thumb, spellchecker and post
Suddenly my ideas, ideals and idiotic inklings
Cast, coast to coast

Reading here, are you alone?
And I wonder your reaction
Is it empathy, joy or tear?
Whatever the reaction extraction
Laughter and joy, anger and rage
Teary cheeks or milk out your nose
My main desire is eyes upon the page

As I sit here alone (almost)
Talking to millions
one on one
all together
on the other side
of the screen.

That brilliant I loved it....Very clever ......

lot of love ,

The other side of the screeen....
God damn it, an entire generation pumping gas, waiting tables; slaves with white collars. Advertising has us chasing cars and clothes, working jobs we hate so we can buy shit we don't need. We're the middle children of history, man. No purpose or place. We have no Great War. No Great Depression. Our Great War's a spiritual war... our Great Depression is our lives. We've all been raised on television to believe that one day we'd all be millionaires, and movie gods, and rock stars. But we won't. And we're slowly learning that fact. And we're very, very pissed off.
