Re: Gnomosexuality

Hi Nekot, yes the "Gods in a Booth" poem was mine, I guess it got auto-pruned. I'll see if I can find it and repost, it's probably on my laptop at home.

Re: Behind Us, While Forward

I really like the tone and rhythm of this piece. The use of repitition is perfect given the subject matter.

Re: Gnomosexuality

Thanks guys, and yes, I've taken a bit of a break from the poetry lately, but I want to get going again when I have the time. And thanks for the edit, Sailor, good catch!

Gnomosexuality

I fell in love last Tuesday with a granite garden gnome who shrugged off my advances on the lawn outside my home. I brought him pretty flowers that I’d gathered in a bunch and asked the little garden gnome if he was free for lunch. The garden gnome said nothing… he just stared me in the eye. I’m not...

Re: Penitent

I like this a lot. When I picture your ghost, I see John Cleese in full victorian-era dress, for some reason. Made me laugh, even if it is a little sad he's cursed to display his vanity for eternity.

Re: likeaneagle

My grandfather recently lost his battle with cancer as well. I thought you'd like to know that I was able to find solace in your poem, even through it was obviously written with a specific individual in mind. I think that's a mark of great poetry... it's personal yet universal. Thanks again for shar...

January Spring

Though the ground is hard and cold
Though the sky is grey
Though the sun has brought no warmth
Spring has come today

For though our skin's a-shiver
And our fingers' numb
Hope has grown this Winter
For equality has come

Re: It is Written

This is just my personal view, and it, as you can see, is filled with more questions than answers. I'd be glad to discuss the ideas behind my particular viewpoint, but I'm definitely not interested in debating the existence of God... I mean, who knows?? I do, however, concede that God exists in the ...

It is Written

They say a camel cannot squeeze through a needle's eye. And so a rich man shall not please St. Peter should he die. But what if Peter's just a ruse to tamp the masses down, to extinguish any fuse endangering the crown? It is written in the Book: The meek shall rule the earth, and so the humble and t...

Re: A new deal for all my american friends

Obama is going to face many challenges, most of them created or exacerbated by the Bush administration. Your message of working together and helping Obama to help us help ourselves  is sorely needed, and very eloquently put. Great work!

A Dream Fulfilled

All along these brownstone streets
The shutters now swing free
Like Old Dominion from the grasp
Of racist history

And from those windows voices cry
To all those who would hear
A wordless din of prideful joy
Poetic as Shakespeare
