I know Richard best from when we were moderators, we never really saw eye to eye on any issue that was brought up but I could respect the strong stance that he always took. Never a good debate without somebody to butt heads with. For that and much more, you will be missed, Rich.

There's not much I'd change here, maybe just a few wording things if you want me to nitpick. line 1: "solitary" instead of "single" ....or maybe some other similar but less used word line 2: "showing" instead of "shows" line 4: "Awakening" or "Awoken" instead of "Wakening" line 11: "Reaching journey...

I had a similar simple little conversation with her in the chatroom. come to think of it, it was the only time i talked with her one on one. I cant recall the whole conversation, but i remember clearly near the end when she was talking about how she had no hair that she said she looked like a shaved...

To Save a Soul How far would you go To save a lost soul A life on the run, Submissive to the gun, Nature’s own fury, Or mankind’s own greed. A child left to die Does it make you cry? So then how far would you go Knowing everything you know To save those who suffer Or is y...

for the full story, just look for the the post in this forum that's titled "Who is The Ravyn (..." i'm sure you probably just overlooked that. But to sum of that long post, she's a member of this website. A very beautiful person inside and out. But she died of cancer less than a year ago. Since she ...

Some people deal with serious situations with humor. My sense of humor is the upmost morbid and i can relate to Juko's words, though i have learned when to keep my jokes in my head....most the time anyway. Juko, next time you need to release an urge to liven up a serious crowd, just send a message t...

The Basics: Parts of a Poem Defined

There's a lot of weird vocabulary for the specific parts of a poem. If you've ever listened to music you know what a chorus is. It's the part of a poem that repeats itself, usually without any change in wording but not always, and almost always the most important piece of a poem for it usually revea...

Ok, this needs a little work. First, the sticky post about Links to Forms...or whatever it was needs to be updated, i assume this is somewhat of the table of contents for this forum, thats good. Also i'm creating posts that are for the very basic parts of poetry, if anybody has more basic parts that...

The Basics: Rhyming and Rhyme Schemes

A common problem among inexperienced poets is either a lack of or an inconsitant rhyme scheme. It goes a long way to NOT use the same word at the end of a line in order to rhyme - please, please, please never rhyme the word "me" with "me", its just painful to read. Rhyme - ok so we all know what rhy...

The Basics: Metaphor and Simile

A lot of potentially good poets are only a few steps away from being very good. I've seen a lot of people just be so blunt and straight forward in a poem that it ruins the whole thing. Metaphors and Similes can help you be a little mysterious and deep with your writing. Metaphor - usually a short ph...
