I sort of have a confession to make. I'll do it via poetry, which only seems fitting. Yes, my sad black haired girl You are still here in my world A cherished imprint on my heart You really opened my eyes So strong, worldly wise I was shattered when we had to part Now as our girls grow They have bot...

Re: Last night ...

She died that night. We had a small ceremony, just the four of us, and laid her to rest in a corner of the flowerbed in the back yard. It was sad, but we gave her a safe place in which to spend her last hours, away from people and predators. I wish there had been more that we could have done for her...

Re: Thirty four years

There are some wounds that never heal. Knowing that there are others who care can help. :hearts: for you Mr. Heinzs.

Re: Sweepers

Oooh! I like your interpretation Nekot! Makes me hesitant to mention what my "sweepers" really are. Thank you for responding, and you as well Sir Heinzs! I'll just say that my inspiration for this piece was my newfound love of two wheeled mobility and the winding highways that "sweep" through canyon...

Last night ...

an amazing thing happened. Rena and Sarah and some of their friends were walking near the bowling alley when they noticed a bird in a ditch struggling to get out. Rena managed to get the bird out of the ditch but it didn't fly away and could barely hop. She called me and I went and picked them up. W...

Wait, helmets are optional for motorcycles but mandatory for bicycles?

It's good to live in Colorado!

Sweepers

This Growling, snarling beast A single glaring eye Illuminates the path ahead If it can go, then so shall I Surging swiflty forward Leaves all stragglers behind Red skin rippling, increasing speed Erase all troubles from my mind Rolling canyon sweepers Passes of the mountains Dizzying heights, narro...

Re: So I've decided to take up motorcycling

I have been having so much fun with this!!!!!!!!!! Last year, whenever I could get away for the day on a weekend, I took the quickest road out of town and the longest road home I could find. There is such a sense of peace and serenity that I get when I am riding canyon sweepers and mountain passes. ...

Re: Just checking in.

Hello all! I hope you are all doing well. We are still muddling through, though as much as things stay the same, they change. Serena graduated high school last year and is currently going to CSU in Ft. Collins. Sarah is a freshman in high school now, well for another week or so anyway. Annie moved b...

So I've decided to take up motorcycling

It's something I've always wanted to learn. I took a rider's course last month and got my certification and added the M to my license. One of my friends pointed me towards a newly released motorcycle called a Scout, made by Indian. It fits within the budget, so that's not a major concern. I test rod...

Re: What can we do to improve PoetryPages attendance?

I still pop in every now and then to read, but with two teenage girls in the house, a cat, a dog, my on again-off again love life, and everything that goes along with all of that I just haven't found much time for writing anything. Maybe next year ... :darn:
